Texas Independence Day March 2

Texas independence declared 175 years ago today. The Texas Declaration of Independence, a document proclaiming that Texas was freeing itself from its oppressive ruling government in Mexico, was modeled after the American Declaration of Independence. To this day, Texans pride themselves on being independent, innovative and hard-working people, all steming from the proceedings of our forefathers so many years ago.
